It definitely is! Student can see a ‘Monitoring icon’ when a teacher is monitoring their browser screen. When a student hovers over this icon, they can see which teacher is monitoring them. The following message is displayed: “Teacher name is monitoring”. Another condition to be GDPR compliant is that the module is used for educational purposes only. COOL’s main goal is to help students focus on their schoolwork.
By default, Monitoring and COOL Check are only available when a student is at school. To allow Monitoring outside of the school’s WiFi network, ask your school’s IT admin to remove the IP address restrictions. The admin can set a specific time window during which the Monitoring function is available. For example from Monday to Friday between 9AM and 3PM. In this way, students can never be monitored outside of school hours or on weekends.

Yes, you can. You need to create a Google Workspace account, which we will sync with your Microsoft account. That way, the entire school can log in using their own Microsoft account.
You need to be a Google Workspace domain administrator to install COOL. Fill in the form on this page to download COOL. Next, go to the Google Workspace Marketplace, where you will see a wizard that explains how to install COOL. Select which teachers and students you want to transfer from Google Classroom to COOL. Later on, you can easily add or remove teachers and students in Google Workspace.
